20 Days

Today is the 20th day of my quit. Every day so far has been easier than the one before. Times when I find I am having trouble I come here. When I have questions I come here. Every time I visit the site I am reminded of the good I am doing for myself by quitting. The people closest to me in my life have all had slightly different reactions to my quitting. My sister and my husband have begun to quit on their own after trying and failing to match my quitting. They have both cut down on their smoking significantly and I am so very happy for them. I try to encourage them every day and offer them the same information and advice that I found here on this site. I haven't yet been able to convince either of them to join the site though I wish they would. I have one nonsmoking friend who tells me every day how proud he is that I have quit. Every few days we laugh together because we have both forgotten how long it has been since I quit. It seems at times that I was never a smoker. It's odd to think of it that way since I know that a large part of my life was wrapped up in the addiction, and at the same time wonderful to feel so free of it.

Here's to every chuckle with out choking and every deep breath with out a cigarette!
