Relapse

I relapsed and smoked yesterday. Not sure I can even consider it a relapse. Not even sure if I want to completely quit.

Sorry to hear that, but you're the only the only one that can decide if you're ready.  Most of feel we don't want to quit because we're addicted to nicotine.  It hasn't  been long, so you could get right back on track.  It's much harder if you wait too long. Let us know if we can help.

Sorry that you made the choice to smoke. Staying quit takes a lot of physical and mental work. There will always be a push and pull at the beginning of the quit.  You have to endure the agony of not having nicotine in your system. That is the withdrawal that you have to go through.  Everyone does to some degree or another.  You have to be willing to go through it.  It is a drug that your body craves.  The hand to mouth is just the habitual part of smoking. The addiction will create doubt in your mind becuase it wants to be in control.  You have to say NOPE to the addiction. Here are a few tips that you can reflect on.

#1 Analyze what caused you to smoke.

#2 Make a vow that you will not smoke if it happens again

#3  Get rid of all smoking materials it lessens the chances of being tempted.

#4  Have a plan for what to do differently when you have the urge to smoke.

#5101 Things to Do Instead of Smoke

#6  Start over with a commitment that NOPE no matter whatQuit Date - How to Reset

#7 "Keep it Simple"...

#8  Don't make EXcuses UNDERSTANDING EXCUSES

#9  Education is the key to a successful quit!

You did want to quit and it is not likely that those reasons have changed. Quitting means relearning life and that can be upsetting. Just before I quit in 2013, I realized that I put smoking first. That it meant the greatest satisfaction to me and I feared that I could not learn to live without smoking.

I hope you realize that most quitters quit successfully because they do the grunt work. Only some have the happy quit. If you could see me as I was when I first quit, you'd see a pretty messed up mind. BUT I got better!!!  That's the thing, the dependency does not go on and on and on. You can relearn your life without the vape or smokes--you can find joy, satisfaction, happiness without one single puff ever.

Read Alan Carr’s book Easy Way To Quit Smoking- it will help you to decide if you want to quit. Once you make the decision with a full heart and conviction to quit you will then be on your way to a life free of nicotine. It’s a glorious feeling being free and you will experience that feeling once your resolve to be done. Read about nicotine../learn want you are up against. You can definitely quit when you are ready in heart and mind to be done.

once you make that decision to be done with nicotine, your life will improve immeasurably.

best of luck.

You can do this and you will be giving yourself the best gift ever.  Seriously, I mean that...it's one day at a time and sometimes one FEELING at a time.  It is SO worth it.

Welcome to EX,

Addiction is always telling you that you don't want to quit.  You want to stink, waste money, get sick, die young.
