Matthew's Nicotine-Free Vision

Jump to solution

My smoke-free future is gonna be much as the same as it was last time.  I'll have more scratch in my pocket yet be miserable more often than not.

And I won't smell like an ashtray.  And neither will my truck.

No positive feedback or encouragement, please.

My shrink asks me why I bother with visits with her since I tell her the same.

I honestly have never answered that.

I do however hope that you -- the person reading this missive -- I hope this finds you well & good and that your day will be a great one.

Cheers

@Matthewlibs Well... it is a bit different.  This is physical addiction to nicotine , but I like your attitude.

@Matthewlibs Welcome to the Ex and congrats on your decision to quit.  Great that you took the time to create your vision statement.

Am I reading this right?  This is  not your first attempt at quitting?  If so, consider taking a different approach.

Educate yourself about nicotine addiction and create a quit plan.  Many have found success with knowledge and preparation.   It took me 50 years and many attempts to finally get it. I went into my quits blindly and was never successful.  In addiction to some aids, I found the Ex a week prior to my quit.  For the first time I learned how to quit and had the support that was always lacking.

This link is a great place to start.

Join many of us on  the Daily Pledge.  It's a great way to stay on track on day at a time.

Look forward to celebrating with you tomorrow and many milestones to come.

  Stay busy and stay close.

Yeah, I quit for eight years back in the mid-aughts.

I started smoking again because I enjoy it.

But it's time to quit again.

Thanks for the encouragement but it's not really a struggle.

It's just something else I have to do.

Like eating.  Or taking a shower.  Or making sure the garden is properly watered.  Or feeding the barn cats.

Cheers
