Give and get support around quitting
Day 6 and have been using patch and supplementing with nicotine gum until about 10 minutes ago.
The thought of these withdrawal symptoms continuing for weeks as I step down nicotine just guarantees I will fail.
Going off of NRT is a risk, but at least I know nicotine will be out of my system in 3 days, and honestly, anxiety and withdrawal couldn't possibly be any worse.
Was hoping day 6 would feel like an accomplishment but knowing I could have eliminated nicotine from my system 3 days ago makes me feel like I've accomplished nothing. Even considering changing quit date to today.
I used the patch only,
I forgot my 4th day but I knew it was 10 minutes away. I made it through the day and night.
The next morning I felt shaky and put one on. The second week, I forgot two days in a row and didn't notice any difference.
I put one in my wallet with the promise I would put it on rather than smoke. It stayed there for my first year.
Never needed it.
This is really a head game.

Glad you're not smoking. Why do you have a temperature?
No. Easier to avoid arguments if I cut myself off. Again. I realize I'm not ready to live with right now so better I just back off.
Whatever works for you. Our quits have much in common, but we have to live our own journey.
Hang in there and thank you so much for letting us know how you are doing...Jono28 Congrats on 7 days of Freedom...keep safe and keep well...~ Colleen
Do not smoke! Six days is HUGE! If you smoke now you’ll just have to quit again and start the withdrawal hell over.
You can do this! Take a hot bath. Take a walk. Clean your living space—better yet, rearrange a room and change up your environment. Keep coming back to this group for support. You got this!
11 Days and aside from a pain when I take deep breaths (not sure if related to quit or something else.) slowly getting a little better. No cough or any expected symptoms other than craves
Big congrats on 11 days. That's fabulous. Glad you'e feeling better.
Remember "I don't do that anymore"

A major part of quitting is a change in the mindset. 6 days is a great start so don't stop. Start using positive self talk to get you through. Learn something new about your quit and quitting each day. Make it a journey of education and a changing lifestyle. Enjoy the journey. It is not a death sentence to quit smoking. It is the beginning of a new life. Embrace it. Accept the hard part as well as the good part that takes time to get to. Stay close. We will help you. https://excommunity.becomeanex.org/community/expert-advice/blog/2010/11/19/positive-self-talk?sr=sea.... Come here often read the blogs. If you have a question feel free to ask no matter what it is. NOPE not one puff ever no matter what will keep you free. Do whatever it takes not to take a puff.
13 days. I have acknowledged that I'm done smoking and affirm it throughout the day. That said, today is harder than day 1. There is no way to "Enjoy the quit," and to be honest just seeing that suggested makes me angry. Breathing deep breaths, walking, running, etc...nothing is making it any better.
I hate this.
Not gonna smoke no matter what but really frustrated and down yesterday and even more today. 😞
