Today is My 9 Month Anniversary

Today is June 11, 09 and today I've been smoke free for 9 whole months! There have been a lot of times in the early days when I was very tempted to give in, but I just kept thinking how awful life would be gasping for every breath or having to be on oxygen. I knew that would happen because at that time I was diagnosed with empysema. Ever since that day I've been trying to live healthier trying to overcome COPD or at least help my lungs. At first I couldn't even walk a mile. Now I'm up to over 3 and I'm totally addicted to my walk, but this addiction is a good thing and it certainly makes life worth living! Before I quit, but knew I should, I didn't think life would be good at all if I couldn't smoke, but I was sooo.. wrong! It couldn't be better! You're really not giving up anything.... you're gaining a whole new life! This pic is me walking on the trail in our beautiful woods.
