Hi and Welcome to Ex’s GLQuinn1509

I am so glad you found our site...many of us have had a few quits until one stuck...hopefully, it will be us who make the choice to quit smoking.  I would suggest, that you read at My EX Plan | BecomeAnEX there you will establish a quit day and plan for that day like no other...You can do it...it is a mindset to realize in time that smoking does nothing good for us...as addicts we only think it helps us...we are in this journey together ... come to the support site and update us often, ask for support and encourage other’s on this journey...You are worth this quit...time to get working...~ Colleen 331 DOF

Welcome to EX

I’m sure I will be at some point I will be a non smoker

Hang around this site daily and it will curb your appetite for a cigarette!

We are a supportive group and believe in educating ourselves and each other about the addiction

Welcome to the Ex and congrats on your decision to quit again. It can take a few attempts, but never give up.  If you didn't use the Ex before, I believe you'll find having the support from fellow quitters can make a read difference in your success.  Just reach out if you need help.  Your success is our success.

Starting yet another quit attempt today....praying this one will stick...this time I will stick close to others who have successfully quit, instead of trying to go it alone. Breaking this 39 year addiction is not only a desire but a must! My health has been affected terribly by smoking and I know that although I cannot reverse the ill effects, I can certainly prevent them from getting worse.

That's great.   Most of us have attempted to quit multiple times.  It's not easy, but the quitters on this site are proof you can do it too.  Did you access the Quit Plan on this site as suggested?  I can't emphasize enough that understanding this addiction and being prepared made all the difference for me.  No trying this time--commit to this being your final quit.  Reach out for support when you need it, not after the fact.  It works!

keep them away from your face

don't have them around anyplace

don't say "I want a smoke" anymore

say, "I don't do that anymore."

Whatever, don't give up.  If you don't have any, you can't smoke them.  What are you using for your go to when your have a craving?  Chewing on straws and sour candy helped me immensely.  And, come to the EX BEFORE you smoke.  That's what we're here for!
