Share your quitting journey
A lot of posts lately about relapse, craves, triggers, smokemares, worries about smoking.
Something is in the air. Or our water has been contaminated. Or there is spritual warfare (not so unusual by the way). Or aliens that live in a nicotine atmosphere are trying to get us used to it and then will whisk us up in their space ships!
Or our addictions are doing exactly what addictions do.......they rear their ugly heads at times when we least expect or least accept them.
I have not had major craves to smoke. BUT..... I've been having crazy thoughts like "I bet I could do one", or "maybe smoking an e-cig wouldn't hurt", or "I could use a nicotine free ecig, would just love to see the vaping thing happen". WHAT AM I THINKING AND WHERE HAS MY RATIONAL BRAIN GONE??????? I can NEVER smoke again. Do I miss that? Yes, at times I do. Do I want it bad enough that I will blow this beautiful quit? I pray not! But I cannot say "of course I won't" because I am an addict and I have to be vigilant each and every day of the rest of my life. Some days I think "why aren't more people here in my "real" world asking me about my quit or praising me cuz I made 9 months (only 1 person I even told because they cared enough to ask)? I have alot of reasons why I think that is true but that is a whole other blog for a whole other day!
The thing I want to get across is that many of us have struggled recently, many of us are struggling today!
Be prepared for these struggles....you are an addict. If you haven't got that yet....you better get it quick!
Let's do a collateral kindness day!.
Pick someone in the EX family and send them a PM to encourage and tell them you care how they are doing today. Offer help if they need it, but for sure offer the love and caring they DO need! We'll do this even though our Collateral Kindness Guru (Tommy) is playing at Disney World.
I send love and kindness to each and every one of you today!
Sharon 275 days of Freedom!
