Hey, everyone! This is my first day on this site and I've begun to set up my quit plan. To give a little history, I have been smoking for almost exactly 8 years, and have had 2 semi-successful quit attempts, one for 3 months, another for nearly 9 months. I want to quit because of potential health risks and because I want to start a family in the next couple of years and want to be completely smoke-free before I begin that endeavor.
Like many smokers, I am pretty anxious about this whole process. We are coming up on the holiday season, which is a very stressful time where I work, so I am thinking about a quit date after that because I am so fearful I will just be setting myself up for failure. I have been trying to research different products and methods. I have tried nicotine gum and Chantix in the past (both my previous quit attempts were cold turkey). The gum did not seem to be helping as much as I wanted, and the side effects of Chantix I experienced (extreme nausea), were enough to make me stop taking the medication. I noticed on here one of the videos suggested using multiple stop smoking products. What are some successful combinations people have found on here?
I really want this time to be the time I stick with it, although I realize it may take several attempts within the big attempt to fully quit. Your success stories are so motivating!!!
