Hey eXers, I am trying to quit for the 4-5th time in 2 years. This is the farthest I have made it at 4 weeks on 2/4/21. I have been away from the website and when I saw the newsletter with the quitters mine being at 6 months I knew I had to reset it because I relapsed 5 months ago when I started my new job. I will try to keep up with this app just a short and sweet post.

Heyyy Nick! Awesome job on almost a whole month! I have made several attempts to quit as well and the first part of it is hell, so i am not sure why I keep falling back into it. I made it for an entire year once and then started again also because of a new job. (or whatever excuse, LOL) I guess the important thing is that we tried again. I'm only at 11 days but I have a good feeling about this quit!! It looks like you do to! Congrats on the quit!

Hey, Nick!

Good to see you back!

Einstein stated that the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result.  Have you done any of the reading recommended here?  If not, do it NOW!  Make a plan NOW what you can do in a stressful situation while you are in the midst of a quit THIS time.  Obviously what you have done in the past isn't the correct answer!  Might you blog "HELP" here and wait for us to talk you down off the ledge?  Maybe visit here every once in awhile to keep your quit uppermost in importance, or check in every day to pledgehttps://excommunity.becomeanex.org/thread/29421-february-daily-pledge-2021    you won't smoke THAT day?  When stress starts to get to you, might you go for a walk, or march in place or take slow/deep breaths?

I'm glad you at at it again.

Let us know how we can help you make this your FINAL first days of a quit!

Welcome back. It's great that you are quitting again! Every step forward is something to proud of.  Great work on almost 4 weeks!

BTW - Does Metalhead reference heavy metal music? If so, lets talk. I haven't connected with another head banger yet

Welcome back.  I commend you for continuing to quit.  I quit so many times that I lost track.  I used to say if I could quit for a month, I KNEW I would never smoke again.  That was patently false.  I quit over and over again and then I found EX.  I came here every morning and every evening, just to read a few blogs, sometimes to comment or to ask for help. When advice was offered, I took it and I ran with it.  I kept holding onto the phrase that "it gets easier".  It DOES get easier,  MUCH easier but it is a journey and it takes time,  Stay close, read everything you can find about nicotine addiction and take this one day at a time.  Four weeks is wonderful, keep it up!

Welcome back.  I commend you for not giving up.   I attempted to quit numerous times, but I went for years in between before I tried again.   Go back an review your quit plan and identify where things are going wrong.   And remember, reach out before you take action--that's what we're here for.  The Ex saved my quit several times early on.

You can do this one day at a time.
