And then you pick yourself up, dust off, jump off of the self pity wagon, and start walking back towards your success of N.O.P.E. in the opposite direction.
Do not let a slip cause you to relapse. Use it as a tool to strengthen the weakness that caused you to smoke, so it doesn't happen again in the future.
You have hundreds of thousands of supporters on this site. Complete strangers that want to see you succeed.
You can do this my friend, I promise! I talk to hundreds of addicts who fall into a depression and allow their dissapointment in themselves take over and jeopardize their goal of maintaining their recovery. You have to take care of you, your mental health, your mind, your environment. We cannot do that for you, but we can support you and give you the tools that you need for success.
So to begin, put this behind you and use it as both a learning process and a weakness tool. Next time the weakness comes, ensure you are ready for it. If you need help preparing, reach out!
Oh no you haven't failed. You made a mistake. Please don't give up. Get up and start again. You have made it this far!
Your not a failure, that's the Demon talking! Remember you plans! Don't let the Demon ruin all of that! Remember your plans to live a cancer free life with your family. So your not failure.
Oh no you don't! You are not going to give up on us or yourself....not now and not ever!!! Maybe you need to re-read your home page where it says, and I quote "
don't quit quitting ,you'll get it, keep getting educated go to whyquit.com and listen to the pod casts 60 of them one everyday and learn about your addiction. you need more knowledge, you can do it
All the more reason to get back on board , right?? Have your cry.. but understand that you dont have to give up and internalize that disappointment... you made a mistake... so what? Apologize to yourself and keep going!
I know its hard. I spent several days crying when I knew I had to quit for health reasons and still do! But you just have to know that you can and will get throuh this. Dont beat yourself up over this. Get rid of whatever cigarettes you have right now and get outside...fresh air and natural Vit. D from the sun will do you some good; help to clear your head and get you back on the right path. YOU CAN DO IT!!! If you dont have the opportunity to get outside right now..turn on some music, sing, dance, do something physical...dry your eyes sweetie and know that you are human....now, get busy being active in other choices! YOU CAN DO IT...
I'm sorry you relapsed. Smoking is so much easier than not smoking. You can get past this. Don't wait 8 years to try again like I did. You are strong. C'mon, come back and join us.
Just so you know dear friend....you are not crying alone....I'm crying too, and I'm just waiting for someone to stop by my desk and ask me what's wrong! We are here for you...please never forget that! Cindy
I'm with lynn, have your cry, take a nap if you can, get rid of any stinking cigarettes you may have lying around, jump back on this wagon and enjoy breathing fresh air. Don't wait to start over as the only good time is RIGHT NOW. Lighting that cigarette changed absolutely nothing for you. Stress, worry, anxiety, guess what it is still there and the nicotine didn't change anything. Life is so much better without that POISON. Go to whyquit.com and look at the relapse traps. We want you back NOW! There is no try only DO. So apology accepted by you to you and lets finish what you started, this glorious wonderful, smoke free quit!
If not I am so gonna send every Posse I know to help you finish this quit.

Don't give up! Use this slip as a learning tool. What was it that made you smoke (that's rhetorical... you don't have to tell me)? Acknowledge what the trigger was, and figure out how to best prepare for when it happens again. Use this feeling as motivation for not slipping in the future. Pride can be a huge motivator!
It's great that you came back here and posted after you slipped. We all want you to succeed! You're human, and humans (ALL humans) make mistakes. No biggie. Forgive yourself and move on.
Get on that train with Tommy and take a few laps to clear your head......Then, take a deep breath and let's get back to this quit. You have NOT failed! You know what "Failed" looks like - failed would be smoking one after another and then going far, far away from this site! Not telling any one here - and just giving up - that would be "failed". You have not done that!! You slipped and came right back here......so, come on.....We know you can do it - you have to believe it too!
I slipped 7 days into my quit....then I slipped again 29 days into my quit again. And I'm just continuing on...not smoking. Don't let this discourage you. Just keep not smoking. It's that simple. Hope you feel better soon.
