Hard time Sleeping

So last night I had a difficult time sleeping. I just kept tossing and turning and dreaming about smoking a cigarette. Today is Day 2 for me and it's hard I can honestly say. However I guess when you have your reasons behind you to motivate you, it becomes different your drive to succeed. I guess the hardest part was making the decision when I woke up yesterday was to be tobacco free. I'm a person that's always surrounded by tobacco. Only place I am not is at home. So I stay in the house and do t socialize because I don't feel like I'm ready for that right now. Can't wait to make it to day 8. 2 down 6 to go. I'ma get so freaking huge!!! That's why I walk 1mile to work and 1 mile from work. Hope I can sleep good tonight

Today is the last day for the Freedom train but plz checkout everything else. As far as sleep, you could start reading one of those ebooks until you fall asleep. lol That might do the trick. Congrats on almost 2 days down. Take it one day at a time.

Welcome to the Ex.  Congrats on 2 days won.   I haven't had trouble sleeping, but sounds like lots of people do.  You're early in your quit, so there will be changes yet to come. Stay strong and reach out if you need help.

Congratulations on making such a huge, positive decision. Insomnia can be a problem for a lot of people initially but remember, it won't kill you and it will pass as will the other withdrawal symptoms. You just have to hang in there and spend a lot of time here, Everyone is here to support you!

Good morning, Congratulations on 2 precious Smokefree days and tonight you'll be able to look yourself in the mirror and smile and say yay for another Day WON, three glorious DOF this evening, in my early days and weeks of quitting I took Melatonin 5 mg about a half hour before bed it helped me to sleep talk to your pharmacist first to make sure it's alright for you and sometimes now I'll take a couple of Gravol which helps as well BUT this won't last long and you'll be sleeping on your own again. Leo0817

Hi Leo, Sorry that you did not sleep well.  There are things that could be causing it.  Are you using NRT's, (Nicotine Replacement Therapy) or did you just dig in and say you are going cold turkey.  Sleeplessness can be a form of withdrawal. (Insomnia)  Your body is going through some major changes and it is best that you educate yourself on what to expect.use these links to educate yourself.  Education is the key to a successful quit./blogs/jonescarp.aka.dale.Jan_2007-blog/2011/06/26/what-to-expect-in-the-first-four-months?sr=search... https://excommunity.becomeanex.org/groups/best-of-ex/blog/2018/01/04/early-withdrawal-symptoms  The journey continues each day learning and relearning your thinking and behavior.

Sounds like you are motivated. It's all new so don't double cross yourself by second guessing your motivation. First handful of days are usually a little weird, but nothing you can't handle. Smobriety sets in day by day. Congrats on two days! Good job. Keep em coming.

Yes one day at a time. Last night was pretty easy for me to go to sleep. Maybe it was because I worked until midnight and didn't get home until a little after one a.m. . But yes I slept good...I'm using this straw for my cravings. I cut it the length of a cigarette and when I feel the urge I just close my eyes and Invision a cigarette. But sleep is getting easier.

Marilyn...yesssss!!! Thank you so much. That's what I keep telling myself that this too shall past and I will be okay. I just pray through it until I fall asleep. I thought about taking medication to help me through the process however, I want to do it all natural you know. Drawing all my strength from inside. Lol...so good so far
