I am now on day 71. I turned 54 last week. I was a non-smoker on my 54th birthday. I haven't been able to say that in 41 years. I remember saying I wouldn't smoke at 16, 18, 21, 30, 40, 50, but now finally as 54 I can say I am a non-smoker. Feels great!  Am feeling alot better, but have gained 12 pounds. Wasn't really focusing on the weight (obviously!) . I am going to start working on that now, just wanted to get some time under my belt.

Happy Belated Birthday!! Cograts on givinging yourself a terrific birthday present!

I'm only on day 51 and I have also gained weight 😞 But, like you, I decided to focus all my energy toward breaking the worst habit/addiction first. I started researching diet and exercise plans last week. I have health issues so it's a little harder to find a plan that I can actually do. But I think I found the one. Just need to get the OK from my Dr then I'm re-setting my goals to losing weight and getting fit while I maintain my quit.

CONGRATULATIONS on a wonderful quit!! Whan I quit I also gained some weight. And like you I didn't really care. I understood that I had to take on one battle at a time. And it really wasn't that hard for me to lose that weight later on, once the matabolism corrected itself.

Keep up the good fight. Your future will love you for it!!

ONWARD TO FREEDOM!!!

I also gained weight during my quit journey - but I figured better a few pounds I could work off than the weight of an oxygen tank the rest of my life!

Happy Belated Birthday and Congratulatios!

It just gets better and better!

Good point Strudel!...I think I am ready to tackle the weight, but all I want to do is eat....I am pretty active, so working out won't help much, but I lost 50 pouns before, I can do it again!
