10 days and no cigaretts. But I'm not writing this so much to talk about my 10 days. My husband, the man who lights one cigarette with another one, wants to quit! I am really excited and I'm also really nervous. He gives up when things get a little hard. He is getting on medication and the patch and I think that he thinks he will not have any cravings then. I told him that he will have cravings, I sure still do. Every day is a struggle not to smoke, especially with him around constantly lighting up. I've found out these last 10 days that I have will power and I can be stronger than my urges, but he gives up. Also, he is already getting mad about quitting. He has so much anxiety. He won't even let me talk to him about quitting. I don't nag him, but when he brings up the conversation of quitting I try to talk to him. He panics, snaps at me to "shut up" and lights a cigarette. I signed him up for the Florida quitline. He can learn useful things about quitting there. I guess the whole point of this blog is to let everyone know that...
#1. I'm pumped about making it 10 days
#2.)I'm pumped that my husband is inspired to think about quitting smoking
#3.) I would love some suggestions and support for helping my husband. He smokes 2 packs a day and has been doing it for 17 years. I would think his addiction and withdrawls would be different from mine since I only smoked for 5 years and half a pack a day.
