Let's Get Moving Part 3

Jump to solution

'The original idea was to "get moving" at least 4 times a week, staying accountable to each other.  Post your accomplishments in the comments. This is the original blog link if you would like to clarify the guidelines

Let's Get Moving Challenge - EX Community.   Any activity counts, as long as you get off your butt and get your heart pumping.  Who knows, maybe we'll lose a little weight or a couple of inches in the meantime.  I hope placing it in discussions this time will work better than a blog post where there were so many entries and becomes harder to locate.  Let's see if we can keep it on the board often and easy to find.

I believe we got sidetracked when I suggested doing other challenges and those challenges were not conducive to everyone. My fault. Lesson learned.  So I am hoping we can get back to doing what "you" do instead of a specific routine.  Got it?.   In the previous post, there were a lot of comments to go through to come up with this list of who participated.  Hopefully, it will catch on again.  Of course, sometimes we got off topic which can happen.  This post really kept me motivated and we had a lot of fun while learning a lot from each other with over 2519 comments on the first blog and 1072 Let's Get Moving 2018 - EX Community  on second blog comments. So let's Get Moving Part 3!

Oh, my - - yes you DID!

If you MUST shovel, do it in short bits and take breaks often!  GOOD exercise, though.

Thank you! I have not been able to figure out how to turn it yet. I am so hoping the new program January 1 is going to correct all my woes.

Thank you for sharing Trisha . You indeed got some snow ! It does look pretty when it's untouched and freshly fallen . Will someone be able to shovel for you or will you do it yourself ? I know you mentioned you as well use a walker so I know that means  not all of us are able to do these kinds of things and yet some can .

It is very Christmassy there . I have only spent one Christmas without snow .. and we raked the lawn .  I suppose where we are brought up might make it we have our own opinions on the best weather for Christmas .  Both ways are still gorgeous days .  Christmas , the most beautiful time of the year no matter what at you look at it .

Beautiful picture .

Neighbors on both sides of me have already done my driveway in the front and sidewalks. I have been neighbors with one of them since 78.

Oh, good!Trisha76

We only get snow here in Maryland on Christmas about one in every 10 years.  The last I remember was a dusting in 2002.  So - not likely!  They are calling for a chance of snow  this coming Wednesday - but the forecasters are usually wrong about that!

Trisha in regard to turning your pictures around , it took me a while and I'm not good at explaining , but maybe your kids or Nancy or you could ask the question on community help , but as you say I know the new format will b happening soon , so you may want to wait ..

It was no prob .. I just turned my iPad around . I'm not sure which way it was on my phone . I rarely use the phone to check on this site .. too much time already I've been on the computer this morning so heading off to actually get moving and doing .

Everyone have  a good day . Catcha later .

It's about 60 degrees here today with sunshine!  A gift of a day!  And I'm accepting it!!!!

(I went for an hour's walk - hips were screaming at me since this is the third day in a row I have gone, but I just kept pausing for a few seconds until it calmed down and headed on again!)

Glad I did!

Thats nice of them Trisha . I'm usually out before most doing snow

I do enjoy it if I am healthy enough to do it ., but I remember one particular year it had snowed so much 1/2 way up my garage door . A neighbor brought his quad with shovel attached to dig me out . We had to get someone on the roof to shovel the snow off of it for fear of it collapsing . I'm glad for both worlds I guess ..but I would love the opportunity to walk on dry ground in winter , or even in the cold or rain , but snow and ice are not my friend . Younger years no problem , not so easy as we age unless you have two good legs two good hips and a good back .

Anyway back to moving .. I actually got a spark and let it ignite the fire in me .

I did a weight class / 50 minutes . Oh and I did toe touches angain and I'm getting better at them I think .  Still won't risk actually touching toes but go as far as I feel safe . My back is the issue .

I recorded  some gospel songs for fun ( trying to increase range) but mostly to keep my lungs working .. that is the most helpful thing for COPD I find and when I leave it , my lungs can tell . So ladies all , thank you you all inspired me and I did it !

Thanks Jackie , so sweet .
