Let's Get Moving Part 3

Jump to solution

'The original idea was to "get moving" at least 4 times a week, staying accountable to each other.  Post your accomplishments in the comments. This is the original blog link if you would like to clarify the guidelines

Let's Get Moving Challenge - EX Community.   Any activity counts, as long as you get off your butt and get your heart pumping.  Who knows, maybe we'll lose a little weight or a couple of inches in the meantime.  I hope placing it in discussions this time will work better than a blog post where there were so many entries and becomes harder to locate.  Let's see if we can keep it on the board often and easy to find.

I believe we got sidetracked when I suggested doing other challenges and those challenges were not conducive to everyone. My fault. Lesson learned.  So I am hoping we can get back to doing what "you" do instead of a specific routine.  Got it?.   In the previous post, there were a lot of comments to go through to come up with this list of who participated.  Hopefully, it will catch on again.  Of course, sometimes we got off topic which can happen.  This post really kept me motivated and we had a lot of fun while learning a lot from each other with over 2519 comments on the first blog and 1072 Let's Get Moving 2018 - EX Community  on second blog comments. So let's Get Moving Part 3!

I must know more about walking a chicken.

I have a little 7 week old chicken that needed a home.  His mom and siblings were killed by a fox and the other chickens in the coop were hurting him and not taking him in.  The wife took him out of the coop, but her husband wouldn't let her keep the little chicken in the house and was going to kill it, so she called me.  Zazu has a cage and chicken diapers are on their way, but he still needs to have outside time so we go for walks around the yard and explore.  He's a perfect snack for a hawk or other animal though, so I have to walk with him. chicken3.JPG He's too little to be outside in northern Minnesota by himself this time of year and through winter, but next spring he'll hopefully be willing to move in with the baby chicks I'll get for an outside coop.

Long story, but my neighbor ended up with a chicken.  They built a small coop for it, and made space for it with a perch inside in an unfinished space for the cold winter nights. I still remember them carrying it in at night!   Most days (unless snow covered the ground) it spent outside in its fenced yard on one side of the coop (they had chicken wire over the top of its yard, too).  Its name was Henrietta, and it lived for years and years!

I love Zazu!! And I love that you're taking such good care of him! Thank you for sharing-- and I will now also go and Google chicken diapering! Cause that's what Friday nights are for, eh!?!

Rest up and get well soon Sharon. No fun being sick. Congratulations on your weight loss. I have my weight vest at 5.5 lbs. and will work it back up to 9 lbs. I misplaced my vest for a while so lightened it up some to get used to it again. .

Sorry to hear about your pneumonia, kid.  Hope the antibiotics and hideous prednisone knocks it out of you.  And good for you for losing 20 pounds since May!  Hurrah!

Yesterday I walked a lot.  Too tired to come and post.  I wish I could grocery shop in just one store. Bargain shopping takes a lot of steps. Have a great day.  No morning walk. Raining hard. Hopefully, it will clear up soon. The daily walks have been very helpful for me with toning muscles and not a lot of hard work. hmm, Go Figure.
