Hello Everyone,

My milestone was July 21, 2019 - 2 complete years of not taking the first puff.

i was so grateful I was up in the mountain because it was hot as .... in New York City and I was struggling with adjusting to my diagnose of having arthritic knees and needing to lose 50 pounds from the weight  gain within the last 2 years.  Good news, I lost 5 pounds.

Each Nicotine meeting I attend, I share how this web site was the first thing I tried for support, from July to about September 2017, I lived on this site.  Reading and taking the suggestions to the best of my ability helped me to stop using the Chantix and Wellbutrin.

Under doctor's supervision, both medication worked for the 21 days I took them.  I haven't looked backed.

Recently, I realized that the medicine did work and I am applying principles I have learned in other self help support group.

My 14 year old granddaughter asked to come and visit and she brought her possess with her.  As teenagers, they didn't do anything I wanted to do.  Before quitting smoking cigarette,  that would be a major reason for me to go into a rage and say unnecessary painful words.

Instead i put the slogans and quotes from one of my support and Buddhist practice.  So when I felt frustration, first I learned to take the deepest breathes and then ask myself is this an issue or an unmet need I need to address.

I just remind myself that the kids are mirror reflections of how I was as a 14 year old.

I am grateful about not smoking and i am wondering was all the nicotine stuck in my joints that is why I did not feel the arthiritis.  All I can say, OA is definitely no jokes and has shook my

Again, I would like to thank BecomeAnEx.org for the support and my new lifestyle.
