Today is a good day

I haven't had a cigarette in 18 days and 11 hours. And today so far has been a good day. I did the math and found that I've saved a 159 dollars so far. So of course I treated myself to some new clothes. Yay for me! I've also started to notice that I can run a little longer and faster during my workouts. I used to pride myself on the fact that I could run at all even though I smoked.  I also didn't have that cough that so many others talk about. So I thought hey maybe smoking doesn't affect me as harshly as it does others.Yeah that clearly wasn't the case.  I've noticed now that I'm not clearing my throat as much. Which was something I didn't even think I did that much until I stopped doing it completely. I can't wait to see what other positive effects not smoking has because I never thought I'd feel this good after only 18 days. Some days are still a struggle but for someone who started smoking at 13 I thought this battle would be impossible but yet here I am doing it. And I have a lot of you out there to thank for it. I didn't think a support group would be of any help. Honestly I thought it would be a bunch of people whining about not being able to smoke. I was so so wrong. And feel dumb for not trying to quit this way sooner. Everyone is so supportive and the elders have a lot of good advice. So thanks to all of you and your kind words and wisdom. I truly don't think I'd have made it this far without it.
