Quit Day 5

This morning began with a craving.  But it did subside once I got busy.  Have chewed fewer lozenges today and plan to chew fewer tomorrow.  Things I did instead of smoke:  go to Farmers’ Market, meet daughter and grandson for brunch,  experience a new yoga class and meet a new & interesting friend, cook, make MORE tea, spend time with husband, write this blog post.  I’m surprised to be experiencing unusual feelings throughout the day.  Not sure how to explain them.  Not unpleasant feelings; almost like a new awareness.  It makes me wonder how many feelings and how much awareness cigarettes were masking.  Has anyone else experienced this?

About the Author
I am a 55 year old health care professional and have considered myself a non smoker my entire adult life. I was a runner (and smoked), yogi, walker, exerciser, clean food advocate, etc. But smoked secretly anyway. It is the nicotine I’m addicted to, not the habit. Quitting nicotine makes me feel so uncomfortable and disoriented. Have used patches and lozenges. Patches kept me awake at night so became addicted to lozenges years ago when quitting. Am now back in the same predicament. Quit again today and am back on lozenges.
