Give and get support around quitting

What a Loss

I do not like this new format.  Our Ex was so personal and comforting to so many.  When quitting smoking or even long after sometimes you feel kind of lonely.  We could always come here and feel a part of the community.  This feels horrible.  Progress?  It does not feel that way to me.

Thanks for your insightful response, cheyenne7. We've been hearing that a lot today -- that it's unclear where to "just go." And that's normal -- we've just moved into a "new house," so to speak, and even though we're mostly unpacked, it's maybe hard to know.

You're not hurting anyone's feelings! We appreciate your honest feedback, and encourage you to continue to give it in Community Help

You can leverage the My EX Feed to set up "Streams" to quickly see all your friends' activity in one place. I recommend reading Creating a New Stream for My EX Feed to learn more. Hopefully this will help!

You can also set up My EX Feed to be your "homepage." To do so:

  1. Click on your avatar dropdown and select Preferences
    Edit Preferences.png
  2. Select "News" as your homepage preference from the dropdown
    News Homepage Preference.png
  3. Click Save!

Following this suggestion from exproductmgr will help solve some of the frustrations some of you are experiencing with the new site.

Let me know if you have any additional questions about this.

I know sometimes change is hard, especially when it's something completely different than what we were used to.  I do see alot of benefits. We just have to try each day. There are some tutorials. So far, i have been reading from my inbox of notifications this morning. Just hang in there, it will get better.

At least give it a chance.  I think there are lots of positives to consider.  Spend some time just clicking on things - that is the best way to learn.

We all had to figure things out when we first arrived at the old site, too.  I hate change as much as the next guy, but I'm giving it a go. I hope you will just keep fumbling around with the rest of us!

I hear what your saying Barbara.  I am not feeling as connected and alone. Like I can't see you guys.  Hard to explain.  It's probably because its new and I don't really know where "the hang out" place is yet like in the old site, we all hung out in the blogs section.

Hang in there!  Keep clicking around!  Practice sending messages.  Change is always scary and uncomfortable.

Let us not get all wanked out.

Anything unknown is strange at first.

I think the apparent simplicity of the old site was apparent to us who were used to it.

If they make a video of how to do the old functions on the new platform, it can still be simple.

I'll try to pin down some pertinent questions in this area.

This is what happens when a bunch of computer techies decide to improve on a website! From what I can see it takkes 7 steps to do diddly squat! The other site was get on, get it done, and feel the Love!

This takes a whole course in computer science.

When I first came to BecomeanEX I didn't even know what a Blog was! But I was able to make enough of a splash that I could be found and led by the hand into the Community.

Grrrrr!
