I have found that the greatest help in meeting any problem with decency and self-respect and whatever courage is demanded, is to know where you yourself stand. That is, to have in words what you believe and are acting from. William Faulkner (1897-1962) American Writer Because we are Addicts, when you first get started, we are still under the influence of our drug of choice - Nicotine - and we are thinking with our Addictive Mind. The process of breaking through Addiction is one of while you're not smoking to let that Rational Non-Addictive Brain take over and to sort out the TRUTH from the Nico-LIES! It doesn't happen overnight and it doesn't happen without effort! That's why you meet people who still Romanticize Nicotine Months and even Years after their Quit! They haven't taken the time and effort to sort the truth from the lies. Building a good foundation for your Quit begins by Knowing Your Enemy! Collect the FACTS about Nicotine and Tobacco, make a Personal List of why you don't want to Smoke, why you want to Quit, the advantages as you see it of quitting! From time to time take out that initial list and you'll be absolutely AMAZED at how few items landed on that list! You were under the Smoke Cloud and could not fathom the TRUTH of Nicotine! So update that list from time to time and you'll be Dumbfounded at how it grows and grows!!!! Some good places to start: http://www.whyquit.com http://quitsmokingonline.com/ Allen Carr's book - "The Easy Way To Stop Smoking" - free download - http://joga.365.lt/Allen-Carr_Easy-Way-To-Stop- Smoking_Download-free-PDF-EBook but what really counts is your personal list that you have fresh in your mind! Dig deep! Quitting just for your family may not be enough. Quitting for your Doctor most likely isn't enough. Quitting for YOURSELF is what you have to get to! And not just your Health but your Total Self - Physical, Mental, Spiritual, Psychological - TOTAL! Living Addiction FREE is about FREEDOM! There's no other way to get there than to Break your ADDICTION for LIFE! This is the source of Decency, Self-Respect and Courage that you WILL NEED in order to become a SUCCESSFUL EXer!
