My Dad called me this morning and wanted to pick me up and go visit my sister at the hospital together which we did, she's doing well but has a very long way to go, I pray that she'll get into the rehabilitation hospital soon and even though it's further away to visit her it's where she needs to be to get more strength and mobility back into her hands and legs. I brought her laundry back with me and I'm hoping to be able to keep my appointment at the hospital tomorrow for a caratid doppler ultrasound which I'm not worried about but I'd like to get it done so weather permitting I'll get there. My sister quit smoking almost 6 yrs ago and has been through an awful lot but thankfully smoking is the last thing on her mind plus there's no smoking on hospital property and getting around with a walker and or wheelchair on snow, slush and ice would be pretty tricky to get off the hospital property to suck on a cancer stick wearing a neck collar. Thank goodness quitting smoking and remaining quit is DOABLE and each day we get through is another day WON and we all need to remember how much better life is without the crutch! And if you haven't got to that point yet then continue moving forward and stacking up those precious smoke free days and before too long you should start reaping the benefits of being an Ex Smoker because I love being able to go anywhere, anytime, whenever, wherever and however without worrying about where to find a corner to suck on the nicotine poison!
