Dhow Today is your quit day! If anyone else has quit today, congrats for starting your journey with us as well. Great! Congrats and thanks for checking in tinkanddeet!
I still can’t believe I just up & quit smoking some days. On my walk with the dog this morning, I spied an empty cigarette pack on the ground & remembered how anxiety-filled I used to become when I’d see something like that with my kids, terrified they’d ask me what it was & figure out that I was a smoker (my kids are super young, so I actually was able to keep it from them before I quit, which I am extremely thankful for). It’s so nice not to have to worry about that kind of stuff anymore.
I actually did try try one when I was about 6 months quit...you know, just to try. I coughed so much for so long I damn near peed my pants. Maybe got 1/2 way through before I gave up. So I still miss it, but that made me realize that even if I wanted to go back, it would not be enjoyable again for at least a little while. I think it’s that delayed satisfaction that has kept me clean. That & never wanting to go through those first days/weeks of withdrawal.
Thanks for for the tag! Last year I chose this day as my quit date, as I had wanted to return from our annual summer vacay before getting started. Somewhere between now & then, I decided I just didn’t want to wait any longer & gave it up cold turkey. My quitaversary is actually July 22 ☺️ Congratulations to everyone else celebrating an anniversary today!
Hello Mark et al,
Wow! 100 already, I had lost count but thanks for keeping track for me. I’m doing well and have my quit firmly on.
Going through a tough work issue these days, in he last I would probably have turned to my vice but I’ve been ok without it and it’s nice to not have that hanging over me.
You guys are great! You make it all possible with your support and example.
Best,
Michael

THOSE JUST STARTING THE JOURNEY
Way to go Miglets! Keep it up!
Still doing GREAT here! It's been 1 year, 10 months, 4 days and 22 hours, and it gets easier and easier as time goes by.
After 40 years of smoking, I never thought I'd be here. But I am! WOOT!
It's so, SO, SO very empowering!
N.O.P.E.
