Give and get support around quitting
So I have been absent for awhile because I lost my quit, started with just a drag, than half, than the other half, from one a day to now 3 to 4 a day, which is still less than what I used to smoke but still too many, ( I know NOPE). I have changed my quit date to 5/26 which is my 60th birthday and I pledge to do it this time. I know sometimes it takes more than one try so I am not going to beat myself up too much as I am getting right back to my quit before it gets too far. Just getting set up at home with internet so I plan on doing the daily pledge once again, as I know it does it help. So for the next three days I am going to wean myself so that on Sunday I will be ready. I know I can do this!
It takes vulnerability and courage to get on here and say you failed.
Kudos! You will do marvelous on the 26th.

Yes! You've got this! I so wanted to quit on my 60th, but kept stalling. Five weeks later I had a terrible cold with coughing that scared the heck out of me. You have even better reasons than I did. If you happen to run out a day or 2 before, please don't go buy more! Being smoke free for 2 days is a way better celebration of your birthday .
I haven't bought any but unfortunately my husband smokes so I would sneak his, so we are figuring out what he can do with his smokes so that I can't get them. He is not ready to quit so it does make it a little more difficult but we are going to make it work. I really want to watch my grandkids graduate, get married, all of it !
Congrats! Be sure to get your quit date updated and synced. How do I get my quit date to show on the community?

You can and you will do this. Most of us have more than one attempt at quitting. Make this your last one. You can do this one hour, one day at a time. And Yes NOPE!!!!
I have been quit since August 13, 2018 and my wife smokes in the house so it does make it very difficult. I try not to ask her to go outside to smoke. One day last week I had a real strong urge to smoke (I didn't) but I mumbled out "Man I want a cigarette", my wife went outside to smoke for the rest of the day!
What a great story! I've always heard the best way to get someone to do what you want, is to make them think it was their idea.
