Hi all,

Just got  home from work and would like a smoke. Not going to though. Guess I will just post something here until the craving passes. I am over menopause and have never been happier about anything. I suffered hot flashes for 16 yrs.It was a bitch. I too was presribed hrt but too risky...mother sister aunt w/ breast cancer. sis and aunt didn't make it but mom is 90 and doing fine. not sure about all this detox or hormonal right now. i am not sure if i don't like my husband because i have been looking at him for over 30 yrs or if it is hormones or detoxing.LOL just kidding. i believe it is some of everything right now.

Good night all...sweet dreams unless you are on chantix.

I used to live in California where smoking is looked upon as a criminal act.  About 1-1/2 years ago I moved to Missouri to find work and it seems like the entire population here smokes.  The news also talks about over half the population in this state being overweight.  I'm also a vegetarian and this is a hunting/fishing state.  What's wrong with this picture, lol???

I hope you all have a successful, happy, smoke-free and HEALTHY day.

Marksmom...I know you were kindof kidding about the husband crack.  Anyway, just wanted to say that the past 8 weeks I have been letting my husband know how the cow ate the cabbage for the most part.  I just mean that in my 22 years of marriage there have been many a time that I did not voice my opinion on things.  Well, not anymore.  I tell it like it is and it feels great.  I don't know if it is the menapause thing or the quit smoking giving me confidence or what.  Anyway, I have been really getting on his nerves.  And everytime he says I'm getting on his nerves it makes me want to get on his nerves worse,.  That sounds alittle phycotic I know.  I just feel like poking at him for some reason.   Anyway, today is a great day.  No smoking for 54 days.  I'm not hurting as bad.  I had to quit with the advil for alittle while after my surgery but I'm back on it again and it sure makes a difference in those aching joints.  Have a great day everyone.  Becky

Hey All,

Here I am......Day 11 and feeling pretty darn good about it. Just read the thing about myths. How true. Went and got my hair done this morning....9 am. I am not a morning person so this will be a long day for me. I work  2nd shift at the casino sooooooooooooooooo. We are fixin' to get a huge storm tonight could be a foot of snow. UGH. I hate winter. Coming home will be a huge pain. Not sure how many are familar with the Mackinaw Bridge. Think about me just around midnight............I will be over Lake Huron. But as we are all well aware a job is a job in this day and age.  And on that note I bid you all good day.

Hi all I just stopped smoke once again I stopped on sunday and I found that my throughts are rediculious. I know in order to be successful I'm going to need to know I'm not alone. I just got home from work and I'm starting to feel a change for the worst in my behavior. I'm sensitive and kracky at the same time and I decided to do this cold turkey. I feel terrible for my co-workers I hope they understand?

Good Morning!

I'm new to this program, and am looking for any stop smoking tips I can get lol

It's been 3 days since my last cig, feeling pretty grumpy.  Never realized how much smoking was a part of my life.

Hooray! I just found this group on Nine Patch's page so here I am.  I'm ten months into the Quit after 45 years of smoking and feel so empowered.  That is a problem.  I was always the people pleaser. let's make everybody happy person.  I went thru a bad patch 20 years ago and learned coping skills to accept others as they are and adjust my reaction to them.  Well, I am now ready for people to accept me as I am and it ain't working.  Yeah, probably some hormones as I still have hot flashes after 22 years.  Example is my husband of 42 years hates all the hoopla around Christmas.  I adjusted years ago to decide what I thought was important and ignore him.  This year he decreed he wasn't getting one thing down as we won't be home.  My reaction is when will it be my turn to have a calm season where he smiles and does my bidding?  BTW he stored the Christmas wrapping paper in a spot that is high and awkward and needed to move lots of heavy stuff to get to it.  I followed his wish of not doing anything himself, refused to not wrap grandchild presents and threw my back out.

Whew!  That was TMI. My point is I dont' know if the Quit made me more self confident or the anger is still about the Quit.

Lotero, I know exactly what you mean.  I had a lot of crazy thougthts too.  That's why I wasn't sure if it was the nicotine leaving my system or hormones.  And remember, you are never alone.  There are sooo many great people on this site and so much inspiration.  Just strong and keep reaching out.  You can do this.

Hi Becky, and welcome!  There are many tips on this website as well as great links to other quit smoking sites.  Congratulations on your decision to quit and and making it through 3 days.  That's fantastic.

Yaya,  there's nothing wrong with being assertive about the things you want in life.  As women I think we naturally tend to be peacemakers.  You need to do what you can to make yourself happy.  I do believe that I have a lot more self-confidence since I've quit.  It's quite an accomplishment to be proud of.  Stay strong.

In 29 days days, I've gone from a size 6 being too big on me to size 10s being too tight.  WHAT HAPPENED???  I really don't feel that my appetite has increased that much.  I can't help but wonder what I'm putting my poor body through.  First, there's the change of life stuff, then I became a vegetarian about 8 months  ago, and then quitting smoking.  It's all good (except the weight gain).  Even though I said I didn't care before, my ego is getting  the better of me.  I work in an office - behind a desk 6 days a week. Not much time for exercise.  I'll be traveling for the holidays but will be starting yoga as soon as I return.  I have no desire to smoke, but I don't like the weight.
