Give and get support around quitting
All of your comments, your links, your experiences, your videos, EVERY bit of information you kind strangers shared with me, made me brave and I ran with it. I went from being so afraid that I had put two weeks on my quit date to stopping completely cold turkey yesterday at 6:30 pm. It's been roughly 27 hours since my last cigarette and I can honestly say it's been rough but rewarding and i feel strong. Thank you to all that inspired me, I promise one day at a time but NOPE for me!
Thank you everyone! It's been 1 day 16 hours and 47 mins now. Yesterday I started to doubt myself on my drive to work. I have about a 25 minute commute which used to be my drinking coffee smoking cigarette time. I just kept repeating NOT ONE PUFF EVER! Whyquit.com was immensely helpful with my decision to quit the video on the website gave great advice on how to and how recommendation of cold turkey was why I decided to try it without patches or gum. So I went and got a bunch of suckable candies and fresh juice like he suggested and didn't drink caffeine yesterday either. Biggest triggers are going to work and leaving from work but I threw out all my old cigarettes like he suggested on whyquit.com.
So proud of you...you might want to keep a bottle of water in the car with a straw in it so you can drink water while you drive. I used Sour Patch Kids to change my mind...they were SO sour that they really changed my mind. Some people used fireballs, some used cinnamon sticks, the idea is to keep saying NOPE and keep going. You are doing GREAT, look at you, already an example to newer newbies!
