I picked 11-10-09. With these numbers maybe I will win the lottery and save my life.

I'm hoping I'll have my Chantix in November, so I'm looking at a quit then.
I've managed to cut back using the patch but the ol nicotine monster returns with a hard slap.
Cutting back is merely a temporary illusion.

It's smoke or have more money for groceries. I hate it. Smoking is one fourth of my income. Sean.

I have set up my quit date to be by Nov. 2. This is the date that my father, an ex smoker for 40 years, died of lung cancer. I've quit several times before. I spent a lot of time sneaking 1 or 2 here and there. I've quit for years to only, during a weak moment, have that "Just one" for old times sake ... and get caught up in the web all over again. This time I want the quit to last!

I've chosen November 6th. It would have been my mother's 71st birthday. She died in January - six weeks after cancer showed up on an x-ray. I had pnemonia three weeks ago and I quit for only 5 days and I'm extremely disappointed in myself. Having her birthday as my quit date will hopefully give me the strength that I need.
