Vinyl records, singles and LPs . Our Hi-fi had an attachment so we didn't need the little thingy in the middle of the 45's to play them on the spindle meant for LP's...
The funnest thing about LP's was the cover art and the liner notes... I spent hours reading those.

To add on to discussion above, not repeat, I actually did get my grandson a set of wooden TinkerToys for Christmas last year. He who has every lego building set on the market (seems like) needs a good tinkertoy!
Some of you are bringing up some real old school stuff, we still have the ice cream truck and its lickity split now when growing up it was Mr Softie and Freezer fresh truck alone with good humor
