Day 11  for me friends I have more urges than the first week, is that normal?? but for today I am smoke free! I just wish I could feel the benefits of inot smoking already! The only one difference I have noticed is that I am not coughing like I was!

Hey there.  I am 9 days 15 hours and 51 min smoke and nicotine free, and I too have had more insistant cravings today then I had the first week.  But maybe we both are wrong, and they are NOT worse they just FEEL like they are cause they are happening NOW.  Humans tend to forget pain and suffering.  So I am telling myself that, that today's urges are NO worse than what I have pushed thru before.  Also on the benefits, let me tell you that I have COPD and have had to take Advair twice a day for the last year.  But yesterday I forgot to take the night dose, because I did not feel the need for it, and I think I can easily go to once a day.  So sometimes the benefits sneak up on us.  Just hang in and I will too.   PJ58

you are already experiencing a huge benefit by not coughing like you were.  Imagine how your body looks on the inside...just imagine.  It is healing now without the smokes.  I am 64 days now and feeling great.  hang in there.  You can do it.  Before you know it, you will be eating something that you have always eaten and say "wow", there's something else here.  Your tastebuds are regenerating and your sense of smell and taste will be really different soon.

Congrats on your 2 weeks that is awesome and amazing. Yes your craving are normal for you. Your body is missing something it had grown accustom to having in it's system. You can and will get through it. I am at day 35 and I still catch my smoke clock telling me time to smoke. But I just ignore it and in a few minutes it is gone. Mainly in the morning after I drop my son off at school. My drive to work was my trigger. And it's not a craving I'm having because I have no more nicotine in my system, it is symply my smoke clock that will eventually run out batteries. Hang tough you will get through

Angel - Congrats on 11 days - great!! Remember you smoked for a long time (like me!) - it will take a while to relearn things. We associated so many things with cigarettes - all of that has to be reprogramed in our brains. It takes a while. For me - and many others here - coming up with something to say to yourself when an urge comes helps. Jonescarp laughed them off, Laurie says something like - "I'd rather breathe than smoke", I say - either "Forget about it!" or "I don't do that anymore".....anything that will help you move on.

You cna do this!!

Congratulations on your 11th day! It's awesome that you have noticed a difference in your cough. It gets better and better 🙂 The cravings are normal and it gets better. Kudos for sticking the cravings out!

HI Angel, Doesn't food taste better yet? Or what about smells? Every time I walk by my bathroom I smell my soap, and the laundry is just heavenly! I'm sorry I cannot remember but are you quitting Cold Turkey, with an Rx or NRT?
