Mothers day at my house led me to stress!!  Daughter in law is such a drama queen just drives me CRAZY!!!  Had to walk outside and get some air, hubby followed me and comforted me, I said I almost want to smoke, he says...no you don't, cause if you do I will to (he is 3 1/2 months quit), so I said no, neither of us is...just ignore what she is saying and doing and I can make it through this day!  I did make it smoke free and when company left went and walked 4 miles and then planted my garden!  Stress relievers for me!  Just can't believe how she can get to me.  You have to know her to understand her...complete hypochondriac and bragger...always me me me!

When she gets going you need to ask her, "yes, and how does this affect me?"

and then hold up the palm of one hand (Talk to the hand)

Don't people like that drive you crazy? It's so, so hard to ignore them and not let them get to you, but in the end that's all you can do. Protect yourself, your sanity, your attitude, and most of all your quit. She is the source of her own problems.

Congrats on getting through the day!

Yes, congrats on getting thru the day. My sister is much like you daughter and while I listen to he I know that she is responsible for her life no me and even if I did help my sister she'd just mess it up again. Some people truly LIKE the drama. Those thoughts always help me keep my emotional distance. Happy late Mother's day!

I bet that most of us have someone (at least one!) in our lives like that.  Good for your husband for comforting you and for both of you protecting your quits.  Today is a better day!

I have a daughter-in-law like that, too. I call her the "diva". Very controlling, codependent.

My son is divorcing her. Oh, goodie......what a mess.

So, anyway, we don't smoke over their emotional immaturity, do we?

Your hubby is a good guy and smart, too!

Take care, hon...........
