On October 9, 2013, 9 days before my 50th birthday, I had to have emergency quadruple by pass surgery. I know some of the blockages (more then 22) were due to genetics, but I often wonder how much was due to smoking for so many years. I know it really doesn't matter the damage is already done. I can only hope that since I quit I will not have to worry about blockages again. I would also like to say that my husband went through all this without picking up a cigarette! I am so proud of him!
