Kellie3 is my mother. Some of you that have been here a while may recognize her; if not, please read if you need reasons not to smoke. She was diagnosed in 2009... Its taken me 11 years to quit! Shameful! At least I have quit... Day 21, 3 weeks!!!

Thanks for sharing your mother's story.   She's been through quite a lot.  Glad you made the decision to quit and congrats on your 21 days.

She had her lung reduction surgery and it did great for her for about 6 years. Now she's back on oxygen 24/7 and will need a transplant soon.

It's funny...they used to say it only takes 21 days to break a habit. I'd always be discouraged that it didn't work that way, not realizing that addiction blew that out of the water.  If you're now 3 weeks nicotine-free, you are well on your way to a great quit!
