Because James says its so important: I've smoked since I was 12. Numerous attempts to quit...the longest quit I had was 6 months, that quit ended with the ending of a bad relationship. I've tried several methods of quitting...the funniest being a little hand held device where you pushed a button everytime you smoked for two weeks...after that, the little device told you when to smoke and you were supposed to smoke every time it told you to...it gradually decreased your smokes until supposedly you quit. Yeah, that didn't work. The six month quit was cold turkey, with Nicotine Anonymous. It was a good solid quit, but with no plan on how to stay quit (my fault, not Niconon's)....I was white knuckling it. By the time I got around to this quit (six years later), I was smoking about 30 cigarettes a day...which sounds typical, but I did that mainly first thing in the morning and at night after work. I could go about 4 hours without a smoke on work days...but I made up for it after work and on the weekends. My current quit is NRT and acupuncture assisted. I'm sticking close to this site and doing something everyday to protect my quit. Ok..that's my story..hope it helps someone.
