Wadda ya mean you're not qualified to give advice??? You certainly are! You're a success story and I think it's great that you're sharing what you've got! Great post!!

Love your advice. I think seeing timelines from real quitters is so helpful to people in the early stages. It gives them the confidence knowing that, if Jim can do, so can they.

Three months is so huge. You should be very proud.

Ooops, sorry. Make that 4 months.

That's when I really felt comfortable as an ex-smoker. It has continued to evolve from there, but being an ex-smoker felt really comfy at 4 months.

the people who overthink this i do not understand
do you want to smoke or do you want to quit
CHOOOOOOOOSE
if driving,drinking,stress,life,kids,spouse,money,sex,GOD, whatever>>>>>>
makes you think smoking is what you need to do.
you are not ready and i will lite the next one for you on your lips
think this through you get nothing from smoking
it is that simple

I quit cold turkey on 10/5/08 and went through a lot of the things on your timeline, but I wouldn't have quit any other way. Your advise is wonderful. You should keep giving that advise out. You are doing great. Peace.

Great post. I know I am a little late and you posted this a long time age, but I just got on this site a couple weeks ago. I also am doing a journal of my progression. It is funny how once you reach a week you get really confident. Sometimes confidence makes you vulnerable and thats when you can have problems. I know it worked that way for me. I bought had a breakdown on day 8. It's like a freaking roller coaster. There are a lot of ups and downs and twists and turns but when the ride is over your glad you stood in line.
