Hi everybody!

I know there are bound to be lots of new people.  I just wanted to give you some encouragement.  I quit 10 months ago and:

1) no you are not crazy

2) No, you will not feel crazy forever, only for about 6 months.

3) Yes, If you're patient enough you'll be less crazy if you use gum or lozenges.

4) No, you don't have to gain weight.  I lost 30 pounds afer I quit.  With my new found lung capacity I decided to train for a half marathon. It kept me busy, kept the quit smoking blues at bay, and made me fitter than I've ever been.  Now I am running a full marathon in 2 weeks and I have never been this healthy.

I started my journey 2 years ago over 100 pounds over weight and smoking a pack a day.  That year my resolution was lose weight.  Last year it was quit smoking.  This year it's get rich.  I figure I might as well go 3 for 3.

Best advice:

You get what you expect, not what you want.  Raise your expectations

You never fail until you stop trying.  Just keep going.

Good luck.
