Allison, I won't say I understand. I'll just tell you about my feelings. I'm way too new here but........ 12 years ago I was new to AA. The first few months I never said a word. I could I possibly help another drunk.

When they passed the Big book around to read a few paragraphs I would shake. I'm not a bad ready I just froze. I started to anticipate what section I was to read so I would not stumble. Where the hell am I going with this.

addictions are addictions, it's that simple. I'm starting to recall all the tools I was given to conquer this evil beast. To me, it's much worse than alcohol.
I have proof.

The last time cigarette advertising was allowed on TV or Radio was January 1970. Here's a simple task for you. Find a person, smoker or not over the age of 60, maybe 62 to be sure. Then ask them to finish this slogan.

Winston tastes good like a cigarette should. Stop after the word like.

now this one. I'd rather fight than switch. Stop after word fight

id walk a mile for a Camel. Stop after the word for.

want some others??

Heres the deal. You have been duped, scammed, conditioned, brainwashed

But I'm not old enough to remember those says Allison. Oh really

Watch an old episode of Lucy, even Ricky's Doctor smoked. THEY WERE PAID TO DO IT. IT WAS THEIR SPONSER. Just like the Wimston Cup in NASCAR.

look at even today's movies. Why does Travolta, Newman when alive, Julia Roberts, And all the hottest movie stars have a cigarette WHE THE DONT EVEN SMOKE.

Think of some of your favorite movies. Picture a scene when a person is nervous, anxious, scared. Yup, you guessed it. Light'em up guys and gals. Sell that shit.

Im a baby boomer so I watched all the WWll movies as a kid. A soldier lie dying, what do they offer him as the last bit of enjoyment A freaking cigarette

now for the worse part. I spent a career working in advertising and was well aware of all of this and it still worked on me. I have been on again off again for two years. NO MORE, I CANT.

i won't even begin to tell you what the Liquor industry did and still does.

Take a real good look at a shinny paper magazine ad with liquor ads. Looks at the droplets. Really look,as they sweat down the glass of Scotch on the rocks.

This what alcoholics see. Scary scary faces floating with fear and terror on their faces. Welcome to the World of Sunliminal brainwashing.

What you felt was real. Why? Because they told you so.,

just my $.02 from the kid from Jersey. Exit 16 on the NJ pike

tell yourself. They're F**King me. And I'm not even putting up a good fight.

Im right here. Tommy still new
