I have realized this week that the subject is a real thing, at least for me. Sleep has been off and my thoughts are so centered around “I wonder what he’s doing this very moment” that My brain fog takes longer than normal to clear! The very young man that asked me to quit smoking is working extremely hard to become one of The Few, The Proud, so I need to get a grip and make it 24 hours without tears. But, on the bright side, tears are much better than cigarettes and his papaw quit the day he left. I am at 7 weeks, going one day at a time with NOPE, NMW!  Pretty sure once we get an address and can send positive written notes to him, I’ll do better, emotionally!!

You can love him best in his absence by being as true blue to you and your commitment, as he will be to his.  Quitting is YOUR boot camp.  Hang tough.

My oldest son recently retired from the army. I'm so proud of him! I remember when he 1st joined, how much I missed him and worried about him. Eventually it becomes a new normal, and the military is so good for them. Teaching the honor, responsibility love for there military brothers and sisters, and so much more!  So I congratulations on 7 weeks of freedom!!! I'm sure he, as well as the rest of your family, and your EX family are so proud of you. Tell your husband congratulations on his decision to quit.

Ah 7 weeks quit is wonderful NanKath it takes time to feel good in your quit skin...so our emotions run high for a bit. That being said, I hope you hear from that grandson soon...so you can write him and/or hear his voice...Happy Saturday ~ Colleen 313 DOF

Big congrats on 7 weeks smoke free.  That's some accomplishment to be proud of.   I'm sure you'll feel much better once you hear from your grandson.  That shouldn't be too far off.
