268 days ago,those words in the caption were the last line of a comment posted by someone special here at this site. It was a comment on my very first blog here, as I was asking for some help. It must have made sense, because you know what? I stopped smoking within 48 hours of that blog, and I’m still here ...... that person, of course is still here too. Today would be a great day to celebrate this person’s quit. Today this person has 1600 smoke free days ! In a row!!!!! When you visit his page, he has a picture that says “about me”. Well, you don’t need to read anything he says under that picture ..... that picture alone tells you that this person is , in fact, the cat that ate the canary! He is a man of considerable mischief and mirth…. You can see it in his eyes. He uses these gifts to help divert many, many quitters and would be quitters from the issue of nicotine addiction frustration and discomfort. Not only does he employ these talents, he also writes music, and is dedicated beyond reason to this wonderful website. I would be foolish to attempt to address all facets of this man’s methods, talents, and efforts, but I will say that his quit is probably very safe due to his unwavering passion and commitment to his quit and to helping others quit smoking.
Think about it .. 1600 days. Ten quits at 160 days... or 4 quits at 400 days. Two quits at 800 days. Or even more challenging,, One quit at 1600 days. 1600 days is part of a lifetime, and I hope to experience that someday. I see now that it can be done. I hope this beacon of enlightenment continues to shine into the forever days of my quit, as you can count on SOMETHING almost every day, and, usually, more than once a day from this prominent and prolific EXER. Despite the diversions, he always gravitates back to the point of smoking cessation. He does it all with a wonderful neighbor, a cat, a microwave oven, a deer, two computers and a guitar. Amazing!! Please join me in congratulating and thanking Dale (JONESCARP) for a fantastic quit, and for standing strong and steady as a pillar in the Exer community. Now give it up for Dale as he gives it up for you each and every single day. Thanks Dale!! May the Party and attendant Ruckus begin!!!!!
