I think I drank too much coffee and soda today...Its almost 4 am and I am still wide awake! Spending time reading on the why quit site I find that with nicotine in your system you metabolize caffeine at twice the rate as a person with no nicotine...Oops! No wonder I am still buzzing around! Lmao!! It also explains all the extra energy I have had since I quit smoking! So for any other newbies who haven't heard...Cut your caffeine intake down by half so you don't end up like me, blogging in the wee hours wired out of your mind and wondering what the heck happened!!  😃

HAHA!  I have been having trouble sleeping also--keep waking up.  I read about the caffeine thing on whyquit yesterday  also and decided not to have any tea last night.  Slept a little better.  Thinking I will get 1/2 decaf coffee for the morning and decaf tea for at night.

Caffiene has a strong effect on me, I really have to be careful. I used to drink Mountain Dew like water, until I started getting shakes and headaches. Not good. Then I quit smoking, and at the same time cut WAY down on my caffiene intake. I usually don't drink more that one  soda or coffee in a day, that way I stay on an even keel. I put caffeine in the same addictive category with cigarettes. Be careful, many people are addicted to it, and if you drink too much on a regular basis it can cause some serious problems. I hope you are sleeping as I write this, lol.

I notice caffine is strong  for me too and I have been drinking a few cups a day, I never use to notice it.

This never happened to me even though I expected it. In fact, I seem to need MORE caffeine but I like the taste of coffee less. Maybe more Diet Pepsi or take up green tea?
