It is way harder this time around.  Right now it is all I can think about.  I know that the first 3 days are the worst, but this is awful!  I  know that if I hang in there, thatr i will never have to do this again, but damn!

I'm so sorry you're having a rough time!  Good for you, blogging!

You're "dwelling" on the crave. A crave only lasts for about 3 minutes, as long as we distract ourselves from it. Its best to know ahead of time what we'll use as a distraction. Take a nap, if you can...Laugh out loud, A funny video, biting a lemon (rind and all), brush your teeth, shower, walk outside, stick your head in a freezer, cinnamin stick, reading, talking to someone.... whatever will engage your mind to get your focus OFF of smoking. The crave will pass, whether we smoke or not. DISTRACT DISTRACT DISTRACT.

Have you done the suggested reading? It really helps so much.  Here's the link to the free Allen Carr read:

also whyquit.com and quitsmokingonline.com are helpful

Don't give in to the addictive lies! Smoking will not make anything better, it will only keep the addiction going.  As long as you don't feed it by smoking, it will get better!!

I can so relate to what you're saying Beckie. The more failed attempts Ihad---the harder it seemed for me. Make this your final---You can do this---Believe it!!!! N.O.P.E.

The first three/four days are the most uncomfortable for most people.  Get through it one minute, one hour at a time and celebrate when you make it.  Don't have that argument in your head that goes like this:  "I want a cigarette.  No, I'm not doing that.  But I WANT a cigarette."  Instead it needs to go, "I want a cigarette.  Well - since I have made a decision not to do that anymore, what shall I do instead until this crave is over?"  A crave only lasts about three minutes .......deep breathe, bite into a lemon, take a breath in the freezer - walk laps around the dining room table, play Angry Birds.....do ANYTHING but think about smoking a cigarette.

I've been where you are.........if I could do this after smoking for 40 years, I KNOW you can.  Do it!
