Hello! I am happy to tell you that I am finally starting to cut through all the SADness that I have had! My butt is off the couch and trying to clean and decorate a little for Thanksgiving! I found out that I will not be all alone for Thanksgiving or any of the following Holidays! BF (Brandy) will be staying in town with me! I am so grateful for this! He told me last night that he is definately staying in town to be with me! This morning I got up out of bed and have not got on the couch till now, and that is so I can tell you that I feel better today than I have in awhile! I have stayed away from the T.V. and fb today! So depressing! I want to Thank all of you for hanging with me and encouraging me! Some of you have been relentless and today I am very gratefull for you! It is not sunny outside but bright, and thats help some too!

I am very Gratefull that I found this site and have been able to keep my commitment for 140 days and counting! I have had some uncomfortable moments today as I am cleaning and getting intio areas that I haven't been in for awhile. My addiction says I wanna smoke. NOPE so, today I am eating freezer pops on my breaks!

Have a HAPPY smoke-free day! You are wonderfull people and I am HAPPY to have you in my corner! Love you all!!  xoxo

SO happy to hear you are feeling better.  This IS a difficult time a year for a lot of folks.  Old memories, cold and dark --- it's all enough to send anybody down.  I am so happy you are figuring out how to right back!  Good for you!!!!

Congrats on 140 days of freedom Terrie and thank you  for the turkey !!! 🙂

Get outside as much as you can the sunlight and fresh air  will do you good  !I am very happy that you will have a friend for the holiday! I often try and work at my job on the holidays because I have no family here and it can be very sad , being at work and helping others really helps me .

About the Author
Hello, I am a 59 year old female, name Terrie, still growing up. I have moderate COPD. I am an oxygen patient, currently not in need of the 24/7 or night time oxygen. Thanks to all the great support and education I got here on EX. My original quit date was 07/06/15 on day 519 I relapsed and started over in less than 24 hours. I want to go to the great beyond being a former smoker and I shall! COPD is not choosy! and not pretty! May 1rst, 2017 I am using Dale's suggestion to put off a cigarette each time and I am down from 50 to 20. I am looking forward to my old(7-6-2015)/new quit date 7-6-2017 May 4th, 2017 I started with Marlboro reds. Nicotine is a very assinine addiction. Once addicted I found I would smoke any of it including the little cigar/cigarettes, and it's still true since I threw away my quit and stopped being true to myself. I will smoke ANYTHING with nicotine in it to get the fix. I hate smoking! I am not having a problem stopping it's staying stopped, that I am not doing! I do not buy anything but regular tobacco but if caught without it I will do anything except vape to get the fix. UPDATE POSTED 04/24/2018: Getting ready to set a quit date and begin again :)
