a bitch! Man this sucks. I don't want to smoke. I don't want to smoke. I quit. I'm done. That means forever. I just want this feeling to go away. I can't concentrate. I feel vulnerable. I can't sit still. I need something in my mouth. My body is craving nicotine and I am denying my body it's drug. Let go, monkey!

Thanks guys! I'm eating carrots right now. Need some gum. Man, this just won't stop! At least it would be really hard for me to smoke right now because I'm at work. But when I leave work... I'm not gonna smoke! I'm going to the gym, then home to iron clothes and make lunch for tomorrow. NO SMOKING!

I'm done. I've had it. I don't want to do it anymore. Cigarettes will not control me!!!

That's the spirit. Get mad at 'em. Tell those damned cigarettes exactly where they can go!

Sounds like you've got Day 1 under control. Think of it like a sprained ankle. You just have to stay off of it, keep it iced, and endure the discomfort for a few days. It would be unbearable if you thought that 's the way your ankle will feel for the rest of your life. Instead, it's tolerable because you know it's just temporary and in a week or so it will feel much better. Same thing with nicotine withdrawal. Nobody would ever quit if you felt like you do today forever. But, 46 million Americans have quit, almost all of them cold turkey, because they stuck with it and found out it really did get better after a few days.

A couple months later, all 46 million of them are walking around with no pain in their ankle...er, I mean, no craving for cigarettes driving them up the wall.

Just remember... if you never smoke again, you'll never have to go through this again! During my withdrawal stage, I was posting on this site like crazy. Keep up the good work!

Sarah - Free and Healing for Two Months, Fourteen Days, 3 Hours and 12 Minutes, while extending my life expectancy 5 Days and 5 Hours, by avoiding the use of 1503 cigarettes that would have cost me $433.36.

It's going to take a while, but realize it is simply your body wanting what it's been accustomed to getting regularly (hourly, or more often) so it's upset and hollering at you to feed it again.

And, the cruel irony of it all is that the ONLY way to make it stop hollering is to NOT give it what it wants. Fortunately, it only takes a few days, maybe a week, for the whiney little brat to start realizing it is not getting what it wants.Delete Comment

Very good......you have quit! So ride this out and know that you only have to do this once. THEN NEVER AGAIN! IT WILL PASS JUST DON'T SMOKE. I used wintergreen lifesavers and military style pushups. It worked pretty good. You will definitely live through the cravings and soon the demons will be whooped! Great job!
God bless and welcome to FREEDOM!
