First week, sailed through, pretty much on Planet Crazy but it was a fun crazy. Good mood and didn't want to smoke. This is week two and I am kind of feeling depressed and tired. I just keep telling myself no matter what NO SMOKING!! Maybe tomorrow will be better.

It will be better. One day at a time. Take more naps, eat some chocolate, take a walk, watch your favorite movie. Use any means necessary to make it another day and remember the overall goal here. Your goal is to rid your life of the nasty habit and the lies/illness that come with it. Your goal is to breathe easier and smell better and guess what.... you are doing it!

Around my 3rd week I hit a wall mood wise. I was sad. I felt like the world was gray. It was the addiction trying to talk me into coming back to the dark side. It was the addiction tricking me into thinking that if only I were to smoke I would feel better. Well, I stood up to the nasty thing and made it one craving at a time and so can you.

Treat yourself well during this time. Acknowledge how awesome it is that you are making it day to day. Count up those days and be proud. This too shall pass.

Hang on there, Pia, it does get better. It has been sixty days, and I just now feel really happy I am not smoking. It is like what Thomas said, "The want will come later."Schneidl really gave you some good encouragement and advice.

All that you are experiencing is normal.  Most of this stuff resolves after the first 2-3 weeks. If you want more information, check out the blog "Early Withdrawal Symptoms" on my page.

You ARE doing this, so stay the course.  Some days you will need to get through a minute at a time, others an hour, still others a morning or afternoon----- but each one you get through adds up to days, then weeks, then FREEDOM!

Please don't ever hesitate to ask us for advice or support - and above all else, blog "HELP" in the title before you smoke.  Give us a few minutes and we will all put our internet  arms around you until it passes!
