What a Beautiful Feeling 5/20/18

Tonight marks three full days of being an EXer smocaholic For about thirty minutes today all I could think about was having a cigarette. I walked around, felt weak, couldn't focus, sat down, drank water then it subsided. How evil that my brain seemed to be taking over this quit. Thankfully, with the knowledge of working through it, my physical nicotine cravings will be out of my system by the end of today. On that note I was able to get through this craving.

I do feel beautiful on the outside but not the inside.  My esophagus and chest feel inflamed. I picture my lungs to be full of black nicotine. What an ugly image. I'm seeing my doctor tomorrow and will ask if I can have the Low Dose CT Scan done on my lungs (which I learned about from this site).  I'm terrified to find out the results because I've been hurting off and on for several years.

I am just starting day 3 , did well yesterday till I got home from work then was craving pretty bad, it was raining out and I was home alone , so instead of thinking about smoking , I took a nap ! I never take a nap , felt good , I know the addict mind will be after me soon , to try to get me to smoke , but I am ready this time ! I wish you well on your day 4 stay positive , stay strong !

awken‌ that was a good comment. Naps. Very good for newbie quitters, as your body are ridding themselves of a lot of toxins it will make you very tired. Flushing out those toxins is work! So listen to your bodies and rest as needed. Get plenty of fluids, cranberry juice is a good drink to help speed up the process. Lots of water. Try to lean towards some food that has some protein in it for each meal. I used yogurt with a little granola to fix a sweet tooth problem I also had, lol.

We are here for you, glad your both posting!

I never smoked in my bedroom. During a big nicotine craving it makes sense to go someplace where you haven't smoked. Wishing you a wonderful smoke free day!

It sure is an ugly image isn't it?  Good for you on 3 days!  That is great!
