What The Heck, I've done it Again!!

Hello everyone. I am so darn angry at myself. I've blown yet another quit!! All was going well until hubby and I had a huge fight last night. I gave in to the nicodemon who was telling me to go buy ciguarettes. I was weak, and did. I smoked a few, but it didn't help, and left me feeling like a failure yet again. I've been down this road so many times.
I thought I knew all my triggers and how to handle them. The fight continued in spite of smoking. What a huge mistake on my part. I had almost a month in. Well, I restarted my quit again, and wet down and shredded the remaining ciguarettes. Why haven't I learned my lesson? I keep relapsing. At this rate, my friends will give up on me!!
I vow to never give up, until I am successful!! Thankyou for listening........I must learn from this, so I don't yet again repeat this behavior!!

Hey Christine -- it seems like you learned that the nicodemon did nothing for the situation, I have gone through what you described many times. The difference with you is that you're jumping right back on the wagon and beginning again. That is GREAT and you'll remember that the nicodemon did nothing. You can do this!

I was being stupid here again too, I should have walked away from dear hubby, and posted for Help!! One of my biggest downfalls also.

aloha christine, not to worry some of us have to really learn the hard way. I know I did. trust me you will get tired of doing it again and again. the next time there is an opportunity for you to cave in and smoke. you will just grit your teeth and get past it. there is nothing worse than having to do detox again and again. each time you struggle past something without a smoke when you just have to have one, brings strength to you. that strength will build and build and take you to where you want to go. you will do this. not to worry

You fell off the proverbial wagon, but you are by no means a failure. Take it one day at a time. Pick yourself up, dust yourself off and start again. Don't ever forget that Nicotine addiction is one of the hardest addictions to break. You have one heck of a support system here... !

As long as you don't quit, you're still in the game. One of these days you'll be a winner at it. For good. Keep trying. An example of stick-to-itivness follows.

KEEP TRYING

Christine.....who has not failed once or twice in their life??? This is something that you want, it is something that YOU STRIVE for, so it WILL BE something that you shall have....just never give up hope and never give up faith....you have and will never lose friends here....as long as you keep getting back in the saddle....But try to learn from each time and know that cigarettes are not going to help or solve any problem that you might have.....Be a WINNER kiddo....I know you are and want to be!!!

It’s ok. My pulmonary doc told me yesterday that even if I slip days or years from now, except it and move on with your quit. I have blown it before because once I blew my quit I gave up I will never do that again. Please don’t you do that either. It’s not easy but you learned that smoking never has or will change anything except our health

we we are all here for you

I wish there was some way to filter these darned older blogs geesh! They should have a place but not getting mixed in with the new posts and I for one don't stop and think to check the date every time and this particular post might be difficult for Christine.....

YA for sure, I haven't figured out how to make the big on this Samsung Tab E but anyway it would be great for these old posts to have their own place without popping up with the new.

I believe I will tonight, we made it up to 70°F today so I took off and spent some time with my younger sister and got out with my Dad and he bought me lunch at Dairy Queen it was nice to get out,I didn't do any housework today it was just too nice to be stuck inside.

I made some boards the will keep cats from jumping over a railing and cut random cat heads into them. They are hinged to the top railing and flip down when not in use.

I know and sad too, bonniebee, there's got to be a better way of filtering these old posts other than everyone trying to remember to check the date, there's so many people here and I foget to check dates myself!

I actually like going back and reading some of the old stuff, I just am more conscious of the dates they are posted, because I too was commenting on old posts, and well hey!  Not everyone is still here now, are they?  But some of these posts do tell a story for newbies, and show them what to look out for, and that can be helpful!

About the Author
I'm a widow now, my husband passed away January 1, 2018 He died of COPD, and pre leukemia and the flu. He quit smoking 15 years ago which gave him extra time. I am a mother, and grandmother. I have smoked for 47 years. I am going to have my forever quit and I'm doing it for me and my two daughters so I can live longer and be with them. I like to read, swim, garden, crochet, paint and doodle. I also enjoy walking and visiting with friends and family. I am 100% making this my last quit. I have been in denial about what smoking has done to me and my kids. I must make a new life for myself and it doesn't include cigarettes. I may already have COPD, but have not been officially diagnosed.
