At 2:15 pm this afternoon a bankwide emergency meeting was called for all us to attend a meeting at 5:10 pm. That is NEVER a good sign. When they start pulling in people from their vacations to attend said meeting, well you know it's really bad.

It was announced that my bank, which has been around for more than 30 years, is to be no more. We have been eaten by bigger fish in the sea. We were the ones that were supposed to be doing the eating, not the ones being ate. We don't know after all is said and done if we will have jobs with this new bank. The banking industry is so volatile...banks going bankrupt, banks merging, banks being acquisitioned...That is what we were SUPPOSED to be doing, we were the ones that were supposed to be acquisitioning, not being acquisitioned...although they like to call this a merger.

It is sad to see a very small community bank, we only have 20 branches, disappear. I guess in this instance the smaller you are the harder you fall!

But I am not smoking over it!  My ROAR isn't too loud tonight, but nonetheless, this tigress is roarin' in 190 days of fabulous FREEDOM!

Good Going with your 190 days of Freedom!

Never let your circumstances define you, you define them!  With190 days of freedom you just keep roaring on ahead. The banking industry may be volitale, weak, and shakey, but you are strong. Things are going to work out, they always do...

Usually when I see a smaller bank close around here, the bank changes its look, but the employees stay the same....

Hoping that is the same for you, and as mentioned above, maybe with some increased bennies....

I know this is stressful, hang in there.....you are doing great with 190 days, and you should be so proud, I know you impress me, my friend!

This may test your identity but you are not this bank. You are a great employee who knows the baking business. Even if you find yourself out on the job market you have valuable skills and character. Have total confidence in yourself and draw on the confidence building you have achieved in your quit journey! Keep the positive vibes rolling no matter what the circumstances!

The world has changed so much since my parents generation. Heck, since my generation! Once upon a time, (and yes, it is a fairy tale these days) you started working with a company and you stayed, unless you wanted to leave or were really bad at your job, until you retired. Upon retirement, you had a pension to fall back on. Retirement was the time to relax, take it easy, go on those vacations...now, there are few people that can actually afford to retire and very few companies that have true/old school pension plans.  LOL, today's companies don't plan on you being around long enough to collect a pension from them. Companies come and go and have constant down-size/restructures. And sadly, job performance isn't the deciding factor for who stays and who goes. They look at age (What?? but isn't that illegal?), health (What?? but isn't that illegal?), how much money you make and how many benefits you have earned. The new person that isn't eligible for 4 weeks vacation and makes $1.00 less has a better chance of staying with the company.

Oh wait, I'm suppose to be cheering you up! Sorry about that. It's a toss of the dice. I hope yours land on the right numbers. Try not to stress. You sound like a very smart woman and I think you will come out just fine, regardless of what happens. You just never know, w
hat seems like disaster is sometimes a blessing. I've got caught in company restructure, received a very nice severance and landed a better paying job on top of it 🙂 My stress turned into a win and that's exactly how it could go for you too.

Congrats on those winning 190 days!

This is stressful but you haven't heard how it will effect your job yet. Try to stay positve and keep stacking those quit days.

You can get through this, you ARE a Tigress, after all and you are only 10 days away from 200 smoke free days.  You are talented, you have been an asset to the bank, you are going to be in a BETTER position, somehow...something GOOD will come out of this. My mother used to say, "When one door closes, another one opens."  She was annoyingly positive sometimes.

I love you sweet Tigress...we ALL love you!

You're thrillingly close to 200, so let nothing get in the way of that! I'm sending you an extra-special HUG package, though, just in case...

Fingers crosed!

This may open an entire new oppotunity to you life that you didn't know was there.  "When nothing is certain, everything is possible."  How you choose to define that statement is an attitude check.  Onward!   ROAR!
