ok - this may not have anything to do w/not smoking but in a way it does:) I am looking at IPod's...went to wally world and since I don't know a thing about what I want...here is what I expect.
Record music and play them - that's all:) w/speakers and earbuds:) I want to be able to see what song is playing etc... does it have to be a IPod brand to be good????
I am going to be using this when walking on my treadmil, playing golf etc:) Need to keep my mind on something so I won't want to smoke and music is so calming for me...anyone have a thought as to what I need:) lol HELP - old and not so savy on computer gadgets:)

it doesnt have to be an IPOD i have a Colby 2 MB and it does just fine.

I have an iPod, only because it came free w/myMacBook laptop. I don't know much about them either but I use it more for downloading Podcasts and music. Why don't you try a Shuffle, they are inexpensive if you just want to listen to music.

Hi You Groovy Chick!! Check out the i-Touch. Comes in 3 different levels of storage capacity (at least it did at Christmas). I bought the one with the middle level of storage on it as a gift and it was an incredible hit!! Seriously, I have an i-Pod - I would stick with the brand name. How expensive the unit is will largely be driven by how much storage capacity it has ( how many songs it will hold). Apple makes a great product!! Happy listening!!

Ipod shuffle is a good starter one, to see if you like it, but there are other mp3 players out there, matter of choice and features, though Ipod is the best:)

im not sure but i dont think the shuffle shows what song is playing. i had a cheap mp3 player 40 bux... and it worked great for playing songs i had on my pc. It wasnt as cool as my gen 2 ipod touch but then again what can compare to that except the iphone.....and then my ipod touch is cooler than the iphone cause ive got 32gb and can watch my show on there....the phone doesnt have as much gbs....but it can call home lol. cant win them all....lol. I think a basic mp3 player is fine if listening to music is what you want....it was a memorex brand.

well I think I got screwed lol - saw one at Family Dollar - Slick is the brand. Downloaded some songs from Win/Med Player and won't play! Oh well I'll take it back tomorrow...I even uninstalled the damn thing and did it twice! Ugh! I think I will go and buy a CD Player lol!

I just got one for my husband from Walmart. It's a Phillips, works great just for listening to music, has the screen that shows the song and artist too, comes with the charger, earbuds and everything. Works great and less than half the price of an Ipod. Ipods are overrated.

i dont think ipods are overrated depending on what your using them for. I have the ipod touch. and i use it to watch my show on. YES I HAVE A MAC THAT DOES THE SAME THING. but i cant put that laptop in my pocket and go now can i? It all depends on what your use for it is. cant watch my show on the phillips. Its all what the user wants. I think that the phillips would work for you, cause you stated you just want a mp3 player. I would agree that a 32gb ipod touch is overrated if all you want to do is just listen to music, but for multiple uses....its the best.

Hi Nicole, wasn't trying to put down an Ipod : ) Just meant that it is overrated as an Mp3 player if that's what you are using it for. The Ipod Touch is a whole different story, those things are awesome!

lol thats what im saying too! that memorex mp3 player that i had served its purpose very well....for what i needed it for at the time. I dont know that anyone else had problems or not.....just gonna throw this out there... with the itunes...for the ipod.... it locked my hp up like crazy. I have one of the new hp touchsmart pc's.... it kept getting locked up everytime i tried to do stuff on itunes...so thats why we got the mac laptop. LOL just like the commercials pc and mac dont get along that great. ha ha ha.

sometimes mp3 players are weird.....and you have to open a folder...inside of a folder. Might want to double check that its not automatically formatting it like that Jan. it might be something as simple as that. 🙂
