Voice improvement

My voice had become ruff sounding due to smoking. I always hated hearing my voice in recordings. I would try not to talk if I knew someone was video/voice recording. Well we had a birthday party this weekend for my granddaughter and as I watched the video of the party I couldn’t believe how my voice sounded. I barely recognized my voice wow I thought it was ruined forever. But just having quit for 1.5 years my voice is back to almost normal. How wonderful this is. The benefits of quit smoking continue. Just thought I would share this with y’all . Everyone have a wonderful week.

That’s great, look how your body is starting to recover. Things you can hear, feel and see are getting better, even the things you don’t know about are getting better.

Congratulations on the Voice improvement! I’ve been a pack a day smoker for many years now, how long does it take to get your voice back to normal? Mine is about an octave lower and very raspy.?

You may not receive a reply to your comment since this post is a bit older.  You might write a blog  and ask your question.  I have no idea, or I would answer it!

@smeyer1212  You might want to google this.   Smoking does irritate your vocal chords. There are other factors that can also effect your voice such as allergies, reflux, medications, etc.   I don't cough from smoking in the morning anymore, but allergies seem to have the same effect some times.
