Well, it has been awhile and so much has happened in the last week. I must start by admitting that I fell off the horse this past Friday. We went to Vegas, and oh my goodness how hard it was. I somehow survived Thursday and Friday, but Saturday night was just too much. I am used to it being smoke free indoors in Florida, and you can smoke anywhere in Vegas - and I swear every resident and tourist there is a smoker. I had it in my face so much, and was adding alcohol to the mix - and it was just too much for me to handle.
I swore it would just be Saturday night, and did good on Sunday and Monday, but then caved and had two on Tuesday. Yesterday (Wednesday) was a really stressful day for me yet again and I found myself buying a pack. I had a long talk with Eric about it last night and have decided that I do not want to put myself through the misery this weekend for we have a huge cookout at our house tomorrow, then are going out to the beach for a couple of days over the weekend. Come Monday, though, I am heading out of town for a 4-day conference. I will be at the conference 10 hours a day with no smoking around for the 4 days, so I think that will be the best time for me. I will put a patch on before bed Sunday night and start fresh.
I do feel very disappointed in myself for I had gone almost 2 weeks! Now I truly feel like I am starting all over again and it is very hard. I am kicking myself in the ass for now I will be putting myself through those first few really tough days yet again 😞 Lesson learned, though...there is no such thing as just having a few smokes when I drink...I will NOT want to give it the next day. This time around, absolutely no cheating - and I will do it!
Other then all that, I am officially married - so how fab is that?! We tied the knot in Vegas on June 27th (our 11 year dating anniversary). It was so nice and we had such an awesome time the four days we were in Vegas! We are breaking the news to our family and friends at a cookout we are having for the 4th tomorrow. I am scared to pieces of everyone's reaction!!
