In 4 Years here, I have never seen so few blogs per day and so few people day and night

and so little participation.

DID EVERYONE JUST START SMOKING AGAIN?

Julia Amy and I were here 2-3 hours last night  waiting for someone to show up who needed help..

NOTHING!

Is there no one else around here who needs help to quit smoking ?

Well I'm doing OK, but yes I've noticed not many people online the past few days??  In my area we are having snow and power outages, other area's of the country are having great weather so half the people can't use their computer's and the other half are out having fun in the nice weather????  LOL

It's been getting slower and slower for traffic and blogs for quite a while.

JonesCarpeDiem

i've noticed it most the past week or so.

could it be all the cookies this place loads on your pc?

would that keep people away?

You're right, the cookie-loading is WAY TOO MUCH....I have to clear my cache and cookies EVERYDAY and I just got the computer professionally repaired...? And now I need to get offline....:/

I got booted off last night and it took 6 attempts to get back on and that was only through a message in my regular email that I piggy backed on to get back in.  What is up with that?  I wondered if admin was doing a little house cleaning and had partially disabled the site.

That being said, are less members writing in general?  Kind of seems so.

Could have something to do with it taking 3 attempts and about 10 minutes to actually open this blog just now. Despite clearing cookies, cache, and history this morning.

I think the 5 blogs per page hurts the response rate, too; important blogs get bumped to page 2 or 3 very quickly.

Oh well. We'll keep helping everyone we can as quickly as we can!

I really enjoy interacting with others on here.  But, when the site slows down, too much I will leave it for a bit.  I find it too frustrating when it takes what seems like FOREVER to go from one thing to the next.  Sorry for being vague, but I don't know the proper computer terms.  I have learned how to clear cookies, cache, etc... out of sheer DESPERATION!

If the site was faster, easier to use, I def. would use it more.  I think others would too.  Thank you for being on STANDBY, for anyone who needs help.  That part of this site is absolutely a quit saver!

JonesCarpeDiem

or maybe everyone is being directed to becomingsex.org?

Dale, Dale, Dale.......

Are you scaring people off again??????  Do we need to have a talk....hmmmm???  I'm voting for the nice weather....gee, i can't remember a spring where we had 80 degree weather the first part of March.  At this rate, we'll be in the 100's by May!!!!

So......what were you and Julia doing for 2 - 3 hours???????LOL!!!  It'll get busy again...enjoy the break!

Yes the lag has been really bad. I couldn't get this page to load for quite a while. It is taking a long time to do anything. A short blog, hanging forever before posting.

LAG!! But it's nothing to smoke over : )

I hope they get a server programmer to fix whatever the problems are. Or, maybe it's just too small of a server? Wish I knew.

I don't have huge blocks of time atm, so it is a bit annoying to take 20 min to post 2 things. LOL

ok I will stop whining. I do love this site, and the people. I will take the good and bad with the hope that more of the bad is fixed soon.

Postive energy to Admin!!!

I was/am really turned-off by the site changes. In my humble opinion, they did nothing to enhance this site by making those changes. Cookies galore, lags, hang-ups, only 5 blogs per page.....it wasn't broke, there was nothing to fix. From the comments I saw during, and shortly after the changes, and the ppl. that were here then, and aren't here now, my vote is for the site changes. It interruped the momentum, maybe changed it forever, and yeah, that makes me sad.

I agree about the site changes, takes so much longer to read a blog, let alone comment on it.  Site used to be very quick and we were back and forth on blogs and message boards in real time.  Now it feels like snail mail!  Harder to be there for newcomers.  Also I don't remember the last time EX ran their tv ads.  I thought they usually ran them before New years, but didn't see them this year.

It is good to know so many of us are still here even if we have a harder time being community !

I have been checking in but not having time to blog or post. While I'm at work. I am having to actually work. No pretending lately. It's night time and past my bed time now.  Spring time I have hard time staying indoors. Yesterday when I got home my son and I found one of our cats dead. Cried for hours after I bury him in the rain. I didn't smoke. So Dale don't go any where. I didn't even think about a smoke. You are one reason why.

Maybe why it's so quiet everyone quit is working. Postive you are teaching us well.

xoxoxoxo.

About the Author
Hello, My name is Dale. I was quit 18 months before joining this site and had participated on another site during that time. I learned a lot there and brought it with me. I joined this site the first week of August 2008. I didn't pressure myself to quit. HOW I QUIT I didn't count, I didn't deny myself to get started. When I considered quitting (at a friends request to influence his brother to quit), I simply told myself to wait a little longer. No denial, nothing painful. After 4 weeks I was down to 5 cigarettes from a pack a day. The strength came from proving to myself, I didn't need to smoke because I normally would have smoked. Simple yes? I bought the patch. I forgot to put one on on the 4th day. I needed it the next day but the following week I forgot two days in a row I put one in my wallet with a promise to myself that I would slap it on and wait an hour rather than smoke. It rode in my wallet my first year. There's nothing keeping any of you from doing this. It doesn't cost a dime. This is about unlearning something you've done for a long time. The nicotine isn't the hard part. Disconnecting from the psychological pull, the memories and connected emotions is. :-) Time is the healer.
