Two Hours In

*I realize that I'm posting a lot today, but I feel like I need an outlet. So, this is it. Hope that's OK!*

It's been a little over two hours since I returned home after that fateful walk through the cemetery in the intense heat. Two hours since I smoked that last cigarette and felt the burning in my lungs and the tightness in my chest as I pressed on toward my goal to show myself exactly how I was making my body feel.

As I write this, I feel pretty good. I took a shower, and I sprayed myself with my favorite body spray. My breath doesn't stink, and I think my lunch even tasted better. That's probably a mental thing. But still...

I know that I can do this. I'm strong enough to overcome this addiction, and my time is better spent working and spending time with my kids than sneaking off to smoke. It's really not getting me anywhere, except closer to an early grave. I'm gonna press on!

Keep going! Don't give up...YOU CAN DO THIS!!!

Just keep thinking of all that you are gaining by putting those cigarettes out of your life.

Your health will be better, with less chance of a smoking related illness.....your children wont have to watch you die a slow horrible death

Money....in your pockets......why keep making those companies rich to kill you.....you are worth more than 6 thousand dollars right? Of course you are, but thats what the tobacco companies make off a life long smoker...give or take a few bucks....

You will have more energy to do the things you love and even the things you don't, so you can get them done faster..:)

Peace of mind, knowing you are doing the right thing....not using every free secoind you have to sneak off and smoke....You are no longer a hypocrite

Increased confidence...because you know you are winning one of the hardest fights....

Courage to do anything and be anything.....if you can quit smoking, you can do anything right!

More self-respect because you know on the inside that you are being who you really are. You aren't lieing anymore. Nothing but honesty.

You will be filled with so much happiness because you are spending your time with your family, doing hobbies you couldn't before.......living life...not smoking.

and finally FREEDOM......freedom from the chains of addiction......freedom from those nasty cigarettes that keep calling you every 20 minutes......freedom from the thoughts....freedom from the smell....freedom from spending the money........

Get your freedom!!!!

Post as much as you want. I'm only 17 days in but I still post blogs constantly. This is a great support system and it's a great way to  focus on something else other than smoking.

What are you using to quit? Patch ? Gum ? Cold Turkey ?

It's hard regardless of what method, but I was a heavy smoker and relied on it much more than I realized. I'm still so new but hopeful and determined to make this my final quit. Once you're past this hump you'll be ok. At times it's hard and at others it's not, Somedays are brutal others blissful. Take it one day at a time.

I had a really bad cough and within the past 2 weeks it's changed completely ! 😉
